Within a short walk or drive of the spiritual community, you'll find public transportation, marshland hiking, hundreds of major stores, and restaurants.
 
• Milk Pail Grocery is similar to a farmer's market, but open daily, offering a large selection of fresh produce. Trader Joe's and a large, new Whole Foods are within 2 miles of the community.
 
• San Antonio Shopping Plaza includes Walmart, Ross, Mervyn's, Safeway, Fresh Choice, and dozens of additional stores in a large area, about 15 minutes' walk south of the community.
 
• Shoreline Park offers a large network of trails for walking and biking along the water in restored marshland. It connects with other protected marshlands throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
 
Ananda Sangha in Palo Alto provides classes and special events year-round on the teachings of Yogananda.
